On their own, Seaborn are not especially smart. Not the ones without their own wills. Especially the young ones. They simply follow the will of We Many, and their problem-solving skills is... nonexistent.

Which means when one of them ends up in the inn by the rooms, it stands and wiggles at the top of the stairs, making small, sad chirps as the lobby looms below. It wants to go down, but something seems to be keeping it at bay. How did it even get in to begin with? Maybe through a window or maybe just hid in someone's bag? Who knows, really. Regardless, it doesn't think to go out the same way it came in because it has trouble thinking at all.

It only knows wiggle. Help. :(

[ Joshua had been on his way down to the clinic, but it's hard to miss a... small, sad, blobby thing sitting at the top of the stairs, right in the way. He watches it for just a moment, tilting his head. Strange...

But the more he watches, the more he realizes that it seems like it's scared of the stairs. Of heights, perhaps? Poor thing. He has no idea what it is, but he truly does feel for it. ]

Hello there. Are you trying to get down?

The Seaborn wiggles over to Joshua, the "eye" it has seeming to look at him as he reaches out the hand on its head to reach for Joshua's. Which it just barely reaches, considering it does not come up much past Joshua's knees.

[ Oh. Founder, is it wanting him to hold its hand? Joshua hesitates for a moment, and then... takes the offered hand. He isn't sure what to expect. ]

Here. If you come with me, I will help you.

The "eye" separates in its head and spins around. It's probably not actually an eye, but a nuclei that seems to be its "thought processing".

It chirps again once the dots reconvene, but if he tries to move for the stairs, the Seaborn will wobble aggressively.

[ Well, that's... odd. Joshua watches the "eye" spin around for a bit, eyebrows raised in mild surprise. He has no idea what it could be doing, but it... oddly reminds him of Fallen relics, somehow. Not that the Fallen relics are made of goo, but when they had gone to fight Omega in the tower, this thing would have been right at home.

But when he does move for the stairs, once it has finished doing whatever it needed to do, he notes that aggression. ]

What's wrong? Do you not want to go after all?

Again, the nuclei spins, and it gives a pathetic little tug back against Joshua. After a moment, despite having no mouth, it attempts to speak. It's in much the way a parrot would - a mockery of noise and sound with underlying animalistic features. It's doing it's best.

"F...fire...hate..."

...Perhaps its referring to the fireplace in the lobby?

[ ... it can talk. It can talk? Joshua's eyes widen, and he peers down at the thing. Where is its mouth? How is it--

No, nevermind. That's a mystery for later. ]

I understand. If you would like to go downstairs, I could keep you safe from the fire.

[ It wiggles. It doesn't understand much, but can roughly parse together "downstairs" and "safe". But no, no! It's not safe! The fire is bad! The fire is evil!

It beeps again at Joshua, its tiny little fingers trying to pull him back. He has to protect this big animal creature, it clearly doesn't know how dangerous fire is. ]

[ Ah... It's somewhat... cute. The poor thing. ]

[ Maybe he could steal the pitcher from his room, use it to keep the creature safe. ]
