INVENTORY · His canon clothing. · His canon sword, The Burning Thorn. · His half of The Founder's Grasp, a pair of bracelets of which Clive possesses the twin. NOTE: Ydalir has enchanted this bracelet, allowing Joshua to assume the form of a small, cockatiel-sized Phoenix. · His copy of the Journal of Moss. · A photographed family portrait of his own family, in fine (but not royal) clothing and appearing happy. · A stock of medicine for his coughing, supplied by Pure Vanilla Cookie. · An ear cuff, custom made by Sesa and gifted to him by Dion. NOTE: Ydalir has enchanted this ear cuff, allowing Joshua to create a small ball of light similar to Dion's that fires three quick laser blasts before disappearing. · A small stolas, requested from home. Her name is Willowisp, and she coos a lot and accepts snacks. NOTE: Pure Vanilla Cookie has now linked her as Joshua's familiar. |

The turn back to Luca makes Clive fluster a little. Hey now, stop turning this back on him. ]
... I plan to, yes. With Ambrosia here, I wish to take him on a ride. And I have learned his favorite flower and animal from his sibling.
no subject
Truly romantic, brother. You're learning.
[ He didn't even have to prod Clive to take Luca out somewhere. Progress! ]
If there is aught I can do to help, do let me know.
no subject
Especially with the little tease there, causing him to roll his eyes. ]
Turns out you can teach an old dog...
[ He's teasing in return though, not upset obviously, huffing softly. ]
Kiera warned Luca might come to you for something similar...
no subject
Then, I shall ready for it. I do hope your favorites have not changed in the time we've been apart.
[ It's a return tease for the return tease. He could not forget, just as Clive did not forget his.
But he reaches out, placing his hand on Clive's and giving it a firm squeeze. ]
I am happy for you, brother.
no subject
I'm sure they haven't in the few weeks since we last spoke of them, but should they, you will be the first to know.
[ The squeeze on his arm makes him reach out to return it the best he can, smile turning lopsided. ]
Thank you, Joshua. And I'm happy for you, and know whatever you choose, I support you.
no subject
Thank you. Your support gives me more confidence. It always has, no matter the subject.
[ Back when they were children, and now. It never changes. ]

And the words make him huff softly, remembering a moment eighteen years ago when he got knocked out briefly and had to be splashed awake, while Joshua extolled to Jill that his brother would be able to find a way to protect him while on his ass. ]
As yours has for me. And always will.
no subject
But, in lieu of saying anything more just yet, he lifts his hand and gently bumps his knuckles against Clive's chest. Just as their father always had. ]
no subject
Father would be proud of us.
[ Of you. ]
no subject
[ He says it without hesitation. He knows that he would have been. Their father loved them so fiercely, and to see the men they've grown up to be... ]
You look so much like him. And you have his spirit, too.
no subject
[ Not just his spirit, but his eyes are a lot like their Father's. Bright, full of kindness, the care of his people. He smiles a little, reaches out to ruffle Joshua's hair. ]
You would have made a good Duke, you know that?
no subject
I... certainly would have tried to be a good one. Whether or not I succeeded would all depend on the people.
no subject
They would have loved you. Look how quickly people have taken to you here? You have a natural leadership and kindness that draws people. Your our Father's son.
[ He squeezes lightly then lets go, moving to stand so he can move over to the couch, as it's late. Which he will say. ]
It's late, and there's been enough excitement for the night, get some rest. Torgal-
[ Torgal is debating whether to get off the bed and lay on Clive or smother Joshua, tail wagging... Clive wrinkles his nose. ]
no subject
[ But for a moment, as Clive gets up and moves to the couch, Joshua misses his warmth. It is still chilly outside. But Torgal is still here, at least for the moment, and he laughs quietly at the wolf's clear consideration of a sleeping spot. ]
So long as you get rest, too. Torgal, will you help him?
[ He smiles warmly down at the wolf-dog, ruffling his ears gently with his hand. ]
no subject
[ The wolf looks between the two of them, clearly wondering why they don't just sleep in a pile. It makes Clive grin a little, lopsided. ]
Because there's not enough room.
[ The wolf snorts softly and slaps the bed with a paw, growling, and Clive rolls his eyes. ]
We're not sleeping in a pile.
[ Torgal is going to nibble on Joshua's feathers - gently - like he's somehow to blame. ]
no subject
Oh. No, Torgal, no nibbling on feathers. Not that he stops him, though. He's being gentle. ]
Well, why not? We can't possibly make Torgal choose. Can we, boy?
no subject
Get beaten by a tail, Joshua, sorry. ]
I'm starting to feel a little bullied.
no subject
It would do you well to sleep on an actual mattress for once.
[ A tiny smile at Clive, eyes crinkling at the corners. He shifts over, laying down on one side of the bed. A tight fit with two of them, but they'll make it work. He lays with his wings hanging off the edge of the bed for that exact reason. ]
no subject
[ He returns the smile and studies the bed for a moment before sighing and moving to sit on the other side. Like Joshua, he has to face his brother for his tail to hang off the edge, and he arches an eyebrow.
Before his vision is obscure by wolf as Torgal makes himself right at him on - and vaguely in between - them both.
Clive sighs. ]
no subject
You can handle a bed. Just for one night. For Torgal.
[ Look how happy Torgal is, Clive. How can you deny that face? ]
no subject
[ He smirks from underneath Torgals head, scratching it gently before closing his eyes with a sigh. ]
All right, all right. I'm convinced. Goodnight, you two.
no subject
[ He insists, but Clive knows it's also for him. He smiles into Torgal's fur, closing his eyes. ]
Goodnight, Clive.
